GoCar is an entirely new way to explore a city. These nifty yellow convertibles talk to you and take you on a city tour you'll never forget. The advanced GPS navigational capabilities deliver an informative tour, highlighting specific locations throughout Lisbon as you drive. Relax and follow the friendly audio directions. Unlike traditional tours, GoCar gives you complete autonomy over where, what and in what order you see sights, or how long you spend at any given point. The cars have a personality and a sense of humor, telling stories that bring a city to life while guiding the way with clear driving directions.

You do the driving and it navigates and talks to you. Best of all, the adventure happens at your pace. Stop for photos, take detours, park and grab a coffee or break for lunch. Or, blaze your own trail and explore the most exciting parts of the city on your own.

East City Center Tour
This tour should take only about 45 minutes. This is a unique GPS tour route as it takes in some of the Eastern side of the city, dominated by the Castle and includes some of Lisbon's most breathtaking highlights.

By taking this tour, you will access amazing viewpoints, museums, and neighborhoods of Lisbon City Center, like Alfama, Graça, Sao Jorge Castle, Baixa, the Pantheon, discovering the real inside of one of the few European capitals with both a coastline and a river. It provides several detour options that include the unique opportunity to drive inside private, secluded Lisbon neighborhoods!

West City Center Tour
This tour should take only about 45 minutes. The unique GPS tour route takes in some of the city's most breathtaking urban layouts, winding streets and plazas, and sees a great cross-section of Lisbon.

On this tour, you will access the political center of the City and the amazing viewpoints, museums, and neighborhoods of Lisbon City Center. Included are places like Amalia Rodrigues Museum, Sao Luis Teather, Bairro Alto, the Botanic Garden, Camoes Plaza and Chiado.

Belem Tour
This tour requires about 90 minutes. The unique GPS tour route takes you along the city's shoreline and out to the neighborhood of Belem (pronounced Bealin). Belem is linked to Portugal's Golden Age of seafaring and discovery and the site where the famous navigators set sail to discover the world. Today it is a spacious green suburb with many gardens, parks and monuments that are well worth a visit. Among Belem's attractions is the Jerónimos Monastery, the Monument to the Discoveries, Torre de Belem, Belem Cultural Centre and the world-famous Belem pastries!

Expo Tour
This tour of the modern Lisbon should take about 75 minutes. It will show you the Park of Nations and where the World Exposition of 1998 took place. It is now a space for public enjoyment offering a series of facilities aimed at leisure, trade and cultural activities.

About the GoCars:

Bright yellow and sporty, GoCars look great, they are easy to drive, lots of fun and they have no gears or clutch to operate. They are street-legal and fully equipped with turn indicators, break lights, a horn and headlights.

The 3-wheeled cars seat two and have a lockable trunk for your personal items. Their small size makes parking a breeze. They can even be parked in motorcycle parking.

Renters must present a valid drivers license and be at least 18 years of age.

All renters must be able to read, understand and sign the GoCar liability release and waiver form.

Payment and Security Deposit:
You will need to present a major credit card for an approximate $400.00 refundable security deposit (deposit amount subject to change). An imprint of the renter's credit card, along with a completed and signed rental agreement and liability waiver are required prior to the release of the vehicle. If the vehicle is returned undamaged, the deposit is canceled.

For vehicle insurance, as with rental cars, the driver can elect to purchase the collision damage waiver (CDW) - approximately $12.00 per GoCar, covering the car for the day, limiting liability to under $300.00. The renter takes responsibility for the GoCar and their own actions while driving the GoCar.

Safety:
Helmets are provided and are required by EU law. All riders receive a full orientation.

Where can you go:
Exploring Lisbon is easy and fun with a GoCar. You can choose to follow one or more of the tours available (Downtown, Belem, Expo), or you can take your own tour of the city. Cars are not allowed on highways or on the Tagus River Bridge.

Parking:
GoCars can be parked in Motorcycle Parking or can legally share a metered parking space with a car if the meter is fed and the car isn't blocked.

Cancellation Policy

There are no refunds. All sales are final.

Change Policy

If changes are allowed on a tour or activity, a $20.00 per reservation change fee will be applied for any change to a reservation. Please note that some tours and activities do not allow any changes. Date changes can only be made only if we can confirm availability on the new date. While we cannot guarantee any changes can be made, all change requests must be submitted a minimum of 24 hours prior to the tour departure and must be handled on an individual basis through our Reservations Center.
