African American History Mini-Bus Tour in Savannah

Take an informative journey where one can learn about the contributions of Africans in the creation of Georgia as a colony and state as well as the city of Savannah. The African American History Tour includes information about the first Underground Railroad, secret schools, the Civil Rights Movement and Africans' spiritual and cultural highlights in Savannah.
The beginning of Black History begins with the Gullah Geechee people's history and culture in Savannah. The Gullah Geechee people adapted to the sea island areas of Georgia and South Carolina after they were brought here as slaves from West Africa.
The Gullah people are known for preserving most of their African linguistic and cultural heritage, more so than any other community of black people in the United States.
Savannah was a hotbed for civil rights activism and is the home to the Civil Rights Museum.
